Robb spent decades in professional newsrooms, editing at the Chicago Sun-Times before training international broadcast journalists across Europe and journalism schools throughout Southeast Asia. He founded the Mobile Journalism Awards and has taught thousands of reporters, creators, and communicators the mobile storytelling systems now used at leading news organizations worldwide.

Montgomery developed the AI-integrated workflow taught in this course while completing a master's degree in Visual Media Anthropology at Media University Berlin, where he researched how AI tools can strengthen journalism-led cultural heritage documentation.
